Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets

New Delhi: Aluminium prices on Monday rose nearly 0.76 per cent to Rs 356.90 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of aluminium for delivery in May increased by Rs 2.70, or 0.76 per cent, to Rs 356.90 per kilogram in 106 lots.Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Zinc futures rise on high demand
Zinc prices on Monday rose marginally by 75 paise to Rs 324.10 per kg in futures trade due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery edged up 75 paise, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 324.10 per kg with a business turnover of 137 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher spot demand
Copper futures rose by Rs 8.80 to Rs 1,179.85 per kg on Monday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery grew by Rs 8.80, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 1,179.85 per kilogram in a business turnover of 397 lots.
